About Lasting Joy LLC

Empowering Dementia Care with Compassion, Skill, and Joy

At Lasting Joy LLC, we empower families and care teams through compassionate dementia education, heartfelt storytelling in The Shell & Feather Stories™, and the growing vision of the Lasting Joy Family Foundation—spreading light, gentleness, steadiness, and joy across generations.

Growing up in West Texas, Lora always felt a deep calling to serve her church and community. Her purpose became clearer as she began caring for family members living with dementia.

A natural care partner, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), working in care communities and hospitals before moving into life enrichment roles with older adults. Through those experiences, she saw the urgent need to help families and care teams better understand dementia.

Determined to fill that gap, Lora pursued certification with Positive Approach to Care® (PAC™) to assist her community, local care communities, and families navigating brain change.

Joey grew up in a West Texas family rooted in the oil and gas industry. Starting in high school, he built a successful career in sales management—but his heart for people always came first.

Inspired by Lora’s passion for dementia care, Joey became interested in the psychology of human connection and learning. Together, they combined their strengths to educate, empower, and uplift others through Lasting Joy LLC.

In 2019, Lora met dementia care expert Teepa Snow at an Alzheimer’s Conference—a moment that deeply shaped her approach to care. She immersed herself in PAC™ methods, studying and applying new ways to bring understanding and joy to families living with brain change.

In 2024, Joey also had the opportunity to meet Teepa Snow, bringing the story full circle. Their shared commitment to compassionate, ability-focused dementia care has continued to grow ever since.

When Lora’s mother was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia and her father-in-law with Esophageal Cancer, the Fraileys founded Lasting Joy LLC to bring hands-on, heart-centered dementia education to the Permian Basin and beyond. Together, they now provide consulting, workshops, and family support, helping others discover that—even in seasons of change—joy can last.

As their work with families deepened, the Fraileys created The Shell & Feather Stories™—a children’s book series inspired by their own experiences with dementia and brain change. Each story, beginning with Lavendria Duck & the Tangled Feathers, helps children understand compassion, ability, and joy through gentle storytelling.

Building on that same vision, the Fraileys are establishing the Lasting Joy Family Foundation, dedicated to promoting compassionate care, intergenerational understanding, and education for families affected by brain change. Together, these efforts reflect their commitment to helping every generation see the light, stay gentle, stay steady, and celebrate joy.
